How Does Acupuncture Work?

concentrated – Years ago, while working as an engineer in Boston, I received acupuncture treatments to reduce the high stress in my life. I had a very stressful project had been at work and after consulting a colleague’s rave about an acupuncturist, I was curious enough to start weekly acupuncture treatment. I found the treatments to be incredibly relaxing. Although difficult to describe with words how I was feeling physically or emotionally after a treatment, I sure I wanted to experience this physical and emotional state at all times, extreme satisfaction, comfort and environmental awareness.

It was clear to me that acupuncture treatments resulted in a change, but as an engineer, I was looking for a logical explanation, and was curious about how acupuncture might trigger such a reaction in a patient. It seemed unlikely that the insertion could result in about ten extremely thin needles into the body of a patient for about twenty minutes in such a dramatic change, and yet that is exactly what was going on. The more treatments I received, the more I could feel the therapeutic effects, and the more fascinated I was with acupuncture.

During this treatment, I was often frustrated when I asked the practitioner to explain how acupuncture worked. The acupuncturist would tersely that unbalanced energy was balanced. Each subsequent question seemed to be met with a similarly brief, matter-of-fact reply. I assumed that was my acupuncturist actually avoid my questions. I had the impression that he does not really explain how acupuncture worked, so instead he filled the air with unintelligible, New-Age jargon. I just wanted an answer to my question.

A few years later, during his stay in Santa Fe, New Mexico, I met a student who was studying acupuncture at a local college. She had studied acupuncture for two years and would like next year from high school. Now I could certainly an answer to my question. I asked very specific, like a needle could lead used in a part of the human body in another part of the body to change. I asked her what physiological or chemical changes took place to explain this phenomenon. She did not hesitate at all before me to say, “I do not know. I have no idea.” I also found this response very unsatisfactory. Would not it be their education, an accredited master’s degree program to focus on the very topic? How could she be unable to answer this question after two years of the study of acupuncture?

After another year had passed, took me to my continuing interest in acupuncture me to apply and enroll at Southwest Acupuncture College in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The 3,000 hours of programming, which helped for a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine, to me, my questions and their answers in a new light. With hindsight I can now fully understand why the answers to my questions were so unsatisfactory. I was at the time, I was looking for a Western explanation about a very Eastern concept. In asking my questions, I had to learn not just about how acupuncture worked, but I was also implicitly expect a reply in my own language, in terms understandable by someone living in the West.

In academic programs, teaching of traditional Chinese medicine in the United States today, there is little emphasis on the topic of how acupuncture works appropriate, from a scientific perspective. Rather, the educational programs focus on helping students understand the Eastern explanation of acupuncture, the one I originally found so evasive and confusing.

This is not to say that studies are not the intended purpose, such as acupuncture focus of a modern scientific point of view works. In many of these studies have shown that acupuncture relieve trigger endorphins and enkephalins, the brain, chemicals with pain release properties. In the course of my studies, I began to see, embrace, and finally the fact that in order to learn how traditional Chinese medicine works, it is necessary to those who have a history, it is meant to practice.

Traditional Chinese medicine theory is based on the fact that there is an energy that flows into the human body through specific pathways or channels based. The energy flows are blocked or impeded by emotional stress, to choose unhealthy lifestyles, environmental influences, poor nutrition or physical injuries caused by these routes. If this energy is blocked, the result is pain, discomfort or illness. An acupuncturist uses acupuncture needles (and other methods) to slightly stimulate certain points of the body to the balance of the normal flow of this energy to restore to relieve pain, and treatment of diseases. Entrepreneurs – You Might Want To Drop Out Of College

Young entrepreneurs and business owners are often faced with the choice of which moments of hitting the road. On the one hand, there is the more conservative route of staying in college and graduate. On the other hand, many successful businesses who have more money than ever get their degree for them. Is it simply an impediment college? Or is it a valuable resource that must be maintained at all costs. Many college business owners do not even realize they have the option of abandonment. Knowing this option is there could be vital to the success of their future work. If you’re in college and are an entrepreneur or business owner, you must ask your self this question: should I leave university?

The answer to this question often comes in many forms for different people. I was recently at a corporate conference and had the opportunity to discuss this matter with many rich entrepreneurs. The answers I received from them were very different from the ones my family gave me. On the one hand, I was told that the college is only useful if you are getting something out of him, and if I was serious my businesses should take priority over schooling. On the side of the family being told to stay in school, no matter what, put schooling at the forefront – there is always time for business and it will be good to have a safe backup. Both responses have merit, but it was right?. It became clear to me that it was my decision, not the other wealthy entrepreneurs, and not your family.

Why are you in college?
This question is fundamental in the decision to leave university. Entrepreneurs must understand the reality of why they are in college before taking a decision to abandon. Some business owners are at university because their parents told them to go, or because they did not know they had a choice. Other young entrepreneurs are at the university because they find valuable information and want to continue learning while they expand their business. Even more childhood dreams of one day becoming an engineer or architect and want to pursue their original ideals. You must answer this question frankly and honestly, if you make a choice about running your business full time or stay at school.

Why would you pick?
It is very important to understand exactly why you want to leave. Many business owners and entrepreneurs have different reasons for the abandonment of the college and it is essential that you understand yours. I often answer this question in conversation, and several times a young entrepreneur wants drop out of college on pure speculation. It is never a good idea without a solid business plan. I recommend having a solid business plan and fewer backups, as well as plans for the training of business skills. Dropping out is a risky decision – entrepreneurs to understand and easy to accept this fact. Understanding and accepting risk is part of being an entrepreneur and starting new businesses. I also talked with many entrepreneurs who have already one million dollars, more income, and are considering abandoning in order to focus more on their activities. This example presents an entirely new set of questions. Whatever your motivation to make sure that you understand and research your position.

Here’s the secret to making the decision
It always comes down to balance the two sides of the argument. If each side has reasons that are not your own, or who have doubts in them, then you will most likely take the other side. Student A Reason – To stay in the college:
- My parents pay for it, and they flip if I left
- I know everyone is in college, it would be bizarre to leave.
- A diploma can give me some security later.

Reasons For students – to give up and pursue business
- I have a solid business plan and we worked on for months
- My income is almost half of my relatives already
- Have more time to work on cases not allow me to develop faster

I think it is pretty clear in this configuration that we have an entrepreneur at heart. There is no doubt in the reasoning behind college, and he doubts he will also need the same degree of security. The second list is much more profound and certain. The student knows he will be successful as an entrepreneur and he wants his company to build more. There is certainty and understanding tone. With this situation, it seems very likely that the student would be much better to drop his studies and pursue its business objectives.

The case is almost never as cut and dry that the situation above, most young businessmen have more complex configurations. Even with the complications, the end result is always the same. Follow the path you are sure of your heart. If you are an entrepreneur in the right position, you’ll know exactly why you want to leave and it will be better for you. Is Internet Marketing in your future?

I have Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Rutgers University, who I work as an engineer and Field Service Manager for the Americas in the Broadcast and Post Production Industry for the past 16 years have used. I want to share with you that shows the last six months. It was a misty Monday morning when I drive into the office for an appointment with my boss to have. Business and industry were not going as well as expected and we need to let go of some of the field engineers. My boss wanted a meeting to go over how we want to communicate with these engineers have. About two miles from the office, a manager, go too fast under the inclement drive, rear ended my car. We exchange the usual details regarding insurance and I continue on my way into the office.

I have experienced the second accident back in less than thirty days. In reality I have in my possession the security check to get repairs from the first accident in my car this morning. My plan that day had permission to leave early to begin repairs to a local auto body shop in the city search. The second accident was more violent than the first, and I try to survive. I managed to come in time for the meeting with my boss. I was all set to take notes on how we want to continue on the upcoming events. He brought me a hand and guide said that I was part of a reduction in the workforce. This is one of the new ways companies use to describe when people abandon their work. It was a complete shock to me, but I’m professionally composed. (Internally, I thought …. You have to dream up what is now going on here man! Do you really understand the impact and effectiveness that I bring to the equation)? He proceeded to go over all the forms that were part of this package. I have most of the documents to sign, pack my personal belongings, and leave the office within an hour.

Wow! Is this how a loyal manager is treated in the 21st century? Do not get me wrong, I understand the dynamics of corporate America. A company will generally do everything that they can satisfy their shareholders to put before people. The quickest way to reduce costs. The fastest way to achieve this is to terminate employees. Before I left, I have to inquire just out of curiosity, how we performed last month on our revenue targets. I was told 93%. Ok, not bad for my last post performance. It is not above the revenue targets, but still respectable.

The ride home was rather strange and silent. It’s a little strange, but I have always wondered how it would feel to let go of a job. I also thought about how it would feel like in a car accident. Perhaps it is my unofficial adopted the Law of Attraction! (Maybe a different topic for a future article). I never want these feelings to experience again! Anyway, I came home and surprise my wife. She asked why I was home early and I just told her what had happened. She did it well, which makes it an easier experience. I would say the next few weeks were the typical cases of shock and dismay over what happened. I was not angry because, as I said, I am aware of the corporate game. It was nice contact the calls of the previous co-workers about the impact I had on their lives and careers too. I think some of them leave me harder than I did.

After a 16-year career in the technical and management arena, you feel that you have your identity in stone. But I felt for the last three or four years that I need to start a new career challenge. Participants approached me in the past for the job but it was never the right career fit. I was left thinking, who am I? Do I want to continue doing the same thing or not? At the age of 42, I was at a crossroads and needed to decide what I want to do with the rest of my life.

I remained in the normal interview process in the city. It was difficult under the current economic climate as a number of candidates fighting for the same positions. I tend to write things as I prepare for interviews in terms of what typical questions that I can get and how I answer them. I actually have found some notes that I wrote for one of the interviews and found them inspiring when you hear the rest of the story. Some of the things I was looking for that consists of the following:

1. I was looking for a challenging opportunity for change and value to a company

3. I am a process-oriented individual who feels this helps to create a suitable working environment

In the back of my mind, I also believe that the possibility of a couple of different part-time work. The thinking at the time was that I needed to multiple streams of income to avoid the “economic spine professional” tricks, pulled out under me ever again.

For anyone going through or have gone through a similar experience, I think it is important to take advantage of the situation. Stop and enjoy the life that you have provided. It can be your health, local environment, or your loving family. The initial impact was wondering how and when I will be a kind of story to get income and bills in line to take. We tend to think and act as human beings to the path of least resistance. We let negativity creep in and get comfortable in our subconscious. When you stop to give in this easy way of thinking negatively, the world is not such a terrible place, as we hear in the media. Yes, we are going through difficult times, but 9 out of 10 people are now in service. During the Great Depression, 3 out of 4 individuals for a job.

A couple of quotes made me focus on the positive energy in my uncertain career journey. The first comes from the Bible:

I have used the “unexpected vacation and enjoy quality time with my son. I’m very late, and help his academic progress through the first grade. It was a pleasure to every one of his Little League games last season to attend. These things I would not have had time for if I had stayed in the corporate America. I spend much time reading a few interesting books and CDs to help lead me to find the next career needs. After much thought and prayer, I decided to make a leap of faith and changed career paths to make.

The company I choose is CarbonCopyPro in the internet marketing arena. I could get into the mental paradigm shift is necessary to go out for an employee to becoming a business owner, but it would take too long. I would recommend Robert Kiyosaki’s reading of the book, “Cash Flow Quadrant” and “Raise your financial IQ.”

The great integrity of the founders and co-entrepreneurs are a blessing. It meets or exceeds all of my six criteria above and I am very happy with the change in my career I have made. There is a clear road map for success, and it works for me very nice! The key to success is to listen to people that you want and follow what they do.

Steve Conboy was happy to make a good country to work in the building after completing high school in 1972. Now he is a veteran in the industry – and chief executive officer of SC BluWood, which treated wood sold.

The Action: CEO of SC BluWood Inc., a Carlsbad-based construction products company that specializes in a wood treatment that makes wood resistant to termites, shape and fire damage.

Straight to work: Conboy graduated high school in 1972 in Long Island, NY, and started working in construction. He moved to Dana Point in 1977 and began setting houses.

First big break: In 1990, the Southern California housing market began a downturn is Conboy landed a job with Weyerhaeuser, one of the country’s largest timber companies, as a technical representative from the promotion of the company’s design wood products in Las Vegas. He learned how to make money out of houses from the inside out, understanding the smallest details of the joists, trusses and floor diaphragm.

His son drives a truck for his business, but Conboy wish him a degree and earning a solid career takes. “Even though I am not into college, I told my son that you do not want it on my way,” Conboy said. “My dad wanted me to go to college, but I did a good job and I thought. That makes more money than Dad was cool These days, the jobs do not exist ..”
